The International Paralympic Committee's (IPC) online TV channel www.ParalympicSport.TV
will be broadcasting live coverage from the IPC Athletics World
Championships which get underway in Christchurch, New Zealand next
Friday (21 January).
More than 1,000 athletes from 70 countries will be competing in
Christchurch in what is the last major international gathering of
athletes before London 2012.
Each day throughout the Championships starting from the first day of
competition (22 January) www.ParalympicSport.TV will be broadcasting
live coverage of the evening session between 2am and 6am GMT.
Craig Spence, the IPC's Media and Communications Senior Manager, said:
"This is the first time these World Championships have been held outside
of Europe and it is important for us that as many people as possible
around the world get to see these great athletes in action.
"For many living in the northern hemisphere this might mean a late night
or early morning start however it will certainly be worth it.
"These Championships are the last major gathering before London 2012 so a
lot of athletes will be out to prove a point. We're expecting some
great races and World records performances."
For those who cannot see the action live on www.ParalympicSport.TV, the
IPC is finalizing plans to show the best races each day from
Christchurch on video on demand via the online channel.
In addition to the live coverage from Christchurch, Paralympic sports
fans can also get the latest news, gossip and pictures from the World
Championships via the IPC's official Facebook page www.facebook.com/ParalympicSportTV and Twitter page www.twitter.com/paralympic
Athletes set to compete in Christchurch include South Afrcian `Blade
