Canadian Paralympic Committee supports the creation of the

Vancouver, B.C. (July 19) - The Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) applauds the leadership of Minister of State (Sport) Gary Lunn in looking beyond 2010 to plan for the future of high performance sport in Canada, with the creation of the “2010 and Beyond” panel. "Paralympians preparing to compete in 2010 are benefiting from unprecedented levels of support in Canada. As a result, Team Canada is poised to deliver the best results ever at a Paralympic Winter Games," said Carla Qualtrough, President, CPC. "We are very encouraged by Minister Lunn’s commitment to building on this momentum so that Canadian Paralympians can continue to own the podium at future Paralympic Games.”

Canadian Paralympic Committee marks International Paralympic Day with a display of high performance sport high on a roof-top in Vancouver

2010 Paralympic hopefuls and Summer Paralympians celebrate Canada's 1097 medals from Paralympic Games VANCOUVER, July 10 - On the eve of International Paralympic Day, and with exactly eight months to go before the start of the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games, the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) hosted a dramatic display of Paralympic sport, against the backdrop of Vancouver's urban skyline. Members of Canada's world class Men's Wheelchair Basketball team demonstrated the skill that has netted them a place on the podium for the last three Paralympic Games, with two gold medals and a silver.
