Name: Dominic Larocque
Sport: Paralympic Sledge Hockey
Nickname: The Warrior – His formidable strength on the ice and the ferocity of his slap shot.
Background: A member of the Canadian Forces, he lost his left leg in Afghanistan in 2007. After finishing, he decided to spent a full year in rehab. Decided to give sledge hockey a try. Ten months later, he made the National Team. Now considered one of the most promising players in the game.
HOW HE DOES IT

He plays on a customized sledge modified specifically for his needs. The seat is perfectly molded to his body. On ice, his combat training enables him to easily adapt to the stress of competition and perform at his peak, every single game. Constant communication and trust between his teammates means he often wins.
TRAINING REGIME
Two sessions a week on the ice. Five sessions a week in the gym.
