Donations to the Canadian Paralympic Committee are managed through the Canadian Paralympic Foundation (CPF). It is through the thoughtful and generous donations of individuals, groups, other foundations, and businesses that the CPF supports Canadian Paralympic Athletes as they excel on the world stage in Paralympic and Parapan American Games.
The CPF’s goal is to create a sustainable source of funding by building a $20 million Paralympic Legacy Fund. Investment income from the fund will be used to ensure the Canadian Paralympic Committee and Canadian Paralympic Team continue to compete and excel in international multi-sport competition. It will also be used to strengthen the Paralympic Movement by growing the opportunities for persons with a physical disability across Canada to play sport, and increasing the numbers that participate.
How to donate
All gifts, large and small, make a difference. Personal donations over $5.00 will receive a charitable tax receipt.
You may donate as follows:
- A secure, on-line donation through the Canadian Paralympic Foundation Website
- By VISA, Mastercard, cheque or money order payable to the Canadian Paralympic Foundation, mailed to PO Box 866, Kingston, ON, K7L 4X6, Canada.
In addition to general donations, the CPF accepts the following types of giving:
Directed Donations
Donors at certain giving levels may negotiate with the CPF to direct funds to specific programs, sports, or activities. These donations may be in the form of planned gifts, named endowments, cash, or gifts-in-kind.
Planned Giving
A planned gift provides the opportunity to make a donation based on personal circumstances. The tax and estate planning advantages often allow for a gift larger than an individual anticipated. Planned giving can include gifts of real estate, possessions, securities, life insurance, charitable gift annuities, bequests, and charitable remainder trusts. In most cases, a 100% charitable tax receipt is possible. Gifts of stocks and bonds are exempt from capital gains.
