“Equipment is one of the most important factors in an athletes’ performance. The safe and effective delivery of the highly customise equipment used by Paralympians is a critical part of preparing for a Paralympic Games, ” said Brian MacPherson, Chief Operating Officer for the Canadian Paralympic Committee. “By delivering equipment ranging from the sled’s and sit-ski’s used by Winter athletes to sailboats and horses in the summer, PVL will be playing a vital role in the success of Canadian athletes at the next two Paralympic Games.”
As part of their commitment to the CPC, PVL, its employees, and customers will be participating in a national fundraising campaign called Hands Across Canada. This campaign offers PVL employees and customers the chance to show their support through the purchase of a PVL hand that they can use to send a personalized message to Canada’s Paralympic Athletes. This is the first time that PVL has taken the opportunity to participate in a national campaign of this scale, with the full involvement of the entire company, from head office to all franchisees from coast to coast.
Donations of $10 or more will be rewarded with a souvenir sledge hockey pin.
“This program is very important to the people at Premiere Van Lines because we are proud of our country and want to help showcase the performance of Canada’s Paralympians,” said Walt Peniuk, President, Premiere Van Lines. “Each one of our offices will be involved at the grass roots level of the communities to enhance awareness of the Canadian Paralympic Committee and provide support to our athletes. This is our way of giving back to our communities.”
