Michelle Stilwell established 200m World Record

Nanoose Bay BC’s Michelle Stilwell broke the T52 wheelchair classification 200-metres World record on Friday in Miramar, Florida at the US Paralympic Championships. Clocking in at 35.22 seconds, Stilwell bettered her own mark of 35.82 established in 2010; this is her fourth time bettering the 200-metres World record and her ninth total World record established during her athletics career. 

Also making her mark at the US Paralympic Championships was Renee Foessel of Mississauga, Ont. Renee bettered the Canadian record in the women’s F38 discus throw with a final mark of 28.17 metres.
