Find out more about the Paralympic Sport of Track and Field (Para-Athletics)

05 May 2011
Canadian Para-Athletics Talent Development Coach, David Greig is hitting the road as the 2011 competitive season ramps up.

He will be logging many miles across the country as he attends events to promote the sport, identify athletes and coaches, and to meet with those interested in getting involved in working with persons with a physical disability to help achieve their athletics (Track and Field) goals. Para-Athletics includes participation in a variety of areas, which can accommodate disabilities that include spinal cord injury, amputee, cerebral palsy, visual impairments, and elite athletes with an intellectual disability.

Athletics Canada and its partner provincial organizations offer training opportunities within club settings across the country. Also offered are coach education programs for working with athletes with a disability, integration and inclusion mentorship, and linkages into expert groups.

Athletics Canada is privileged to have many great athlete role models who are performing at a high level within their sport and represent Canadians with physical disabilities proudly. If you would be interested in getting involved, meet Coach Greig at any of the following events to discuss the Para-athletics program.

To track him down, and have him field your questions, David can be reached at:dgreig@athletics.ca CELL (613)298-2795. Follow his travels on Facebook at Para-Athletics Canada
