Vancouver (June 18th, 2009) - The Canadian Paralympic Committee today named the mission staff who will support the 55 athletes. Lead by Chef de Mission Blair McIntosh, the team includes volunteers from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia.  Volunteers will work alongside mission staff from the Canadian Paralympic Committee and National Sport Organisations of the five Paralympic Winter Sports.

“Canadian athletes are preparing to give the performance of a lifetime at the 2010 Paralympic Games,” said Blair McIntosh, Chef de Mission for Paralympic Team Canada. “The 2010 Paralympic Team mission staff will play a key role in ensuring our Paralympic Athletes can focus on the competition. We have assembled a strong team that includes athletes, games veterans, communications and medical professionals dedicated to the success of the Canadian Paralympic Team.”

Volunteering for his 6th consecutive games is Assistant Chef de Mission, Gaetan Tardif.  Also, volunteering are Paralympians Jason Dunkerley (Athletics) and Marie Dannhaeuser (Swimming), who will be responsible for giving fellow athletes the benefit of their experience in competing at Summer Paralympic Games.
